How our lactation specialist has helped Grace and Shaun

Breastfeeding Support Programme

The Breastfeeding Support Programme will include our signature Lactation Therapy which will tackle common issues which many mummies face such as breastfeeding techniques, insufficient milk supply, blocked ducts, breast engorgement and jaundice in babies.

During the first 24 hours after birth, you should ideally produce about a total of 37 ml of colostrumNewborns will consume about 15ml of colostrum in the first 24 hours, 18ml per feeding by 48 hours, and 30ml per feeding by 72 hours.

The therapy will ensure your baby has sufficient colostrum and quality milk supply after.

Our Lactation Specialist will work through the initial sessions with you to ensure your baby is latching on correctly and ensure a stable and constant milk supply.

The programme will commence upon delivery. This is so that we can express and retrieve as much colostrum as possible and not let the “liquid gold” go to waste before it transitions into breastmilk. (Colostrum is only available until the first 5 days after birth) After the first week post delivery, Lactation Therapy sessions will help maintain milk supply until it is stabilised and regulated.

Acupoint and triggerpoint techniques are used for this therapy. Lactation therapy can help in treating the problems of insufficient lactation in a natural and permanent way.

*The techniques we use are unique to Rejoice Pregnancy and is not the same as breasts massages commonly conducted. Mothers will therefore not need to be worried of inflammation of the breast tissues. (A common occurrence of breast massages)
