Frequently asked question

Rejoice Pregnancy is here to help! We’re here to support parents and parents-to-be on their journey from bump to birth and beyond.

There are many types of massage services available in the market that claim to be suitable for pregnancy care. Aside from being a relaxing and regular massage service, many of these services actually do not have long-term resolutions towards the health benefits of a woman/breastfeeding mummy.

Rejoice Pregnancy does not practice such massage techniques nor do we encourage such services. Our Maternal Health Visitors have been thoroughly trained with anatomical knowledge, and adopt only medically approved techniques and modalities e.g. acupoint and physiotherapy techniques. Our expertise in anatomical functions have allowed us to develop, curate and tailor techniques according to each mother’s needs.

Our specialization in lactation also allows us to provide services that are pro-natural birth and pro-breastfeeding, giving you a life-time of mental, emotional and physical well-being.

Geared towards the holistic wellness of the mother, our services are tailored to each individual based on their body & health concerns as we understand that everyone is different and each pregnancy journey is different with each child. There is no cookie-cutter solution. With the many years of experience and substantial amount of knowledge in baby and maternal care by our Maternal Health Visitors, we can assure that both you and your baby are in safe hands as we provide you with quality treatment, excellent client care and uphold a consistent high hygiene standard.

A massage therapist providing pre/postnatal massage can help you relax, de-stress and address any areas of tension or pain. They may even throw in a bonus “breast massage”.

However, breast massage is not the same as the lactation therapy that Rejoice Pregnancy provides.

Receiving such massages will only temporarily resolve problems or may sometimes even aggravate the problems furthers. They are definitely not long term solutions to the issues you might face during your breastfeeding journey.

Pre-birth worries such as having short / inverted nipples and finding the right latching methods and post-birth complications such as baby developing jaundice, mothers facing engorgement / lack of milk supply / blocked ducts often keep mothers awake at night.

Here at Rejoice Pregnancy, our specialization in birth preparation and lactation allows us to safeguard mummies from common breastfeeding problems even before the arrival of their newborn

Depending on the service type, you may be required to prepare some items or none at all. Kindly check in with our friendly agents on our hotline for more information.

At Rejoice Pregnancy, we believe that delivering quality and implementing the right techniques are more important than the aesthetics of the equipment/facilities used during the service.

An experienced and qualified pregnancy care provider will know how to position your body during treatments and identify the techniques safe to use on each individual client.

Our Maternal Health Visitors will conduct the therapy for you at the comforts of your own house, with hygiene and cleanliness as our top priority.

Equipment such as pregnancy massage tables are not recommended and unnecessary. By hanging your baby bump through a hole, gravity is pulling the entire weight of the contents of your uterus (baby, amniotic fluid, placenta) downwards, straining your ligaments as greater pressure is asserted to keep everything in place. This causes great strain and prolonged position may result in negative effects to the mother and baby.

Although some massage tables have a sling that goes underneath the table to support the ligaments, the amount of pressure on the ligaments is enough to increase the pressure inside the uterus (intra-uterine pressure), this can potentially cause damage to your developing baby. Not only do these tables cause damage to your uterine ligaments, it can cause serious back injuries as the surface is less stable. This means that applying pressure on the back while on the massage table is more likely to cause injuries.
